Headlights that don't move
Hi all,
Long time since I've been around but I'm looking at getting my Tiger back on the road for the summer and to take my daughter to prom.
I've got the pretty standard round headlights (I bought them from a show and the box had Westfield on it) but I've never really been happy
with them, they are not east to set and just move almost straight away anyway.
Are there any better alternatives these days?

old headlight adjustment has always been poor,
but hey, take her to the prom in daylight

to be honest, the original 'fit forget arrangement' worked quite well for 60+ years. yes the screws rust a bit and are difficult to
adjust as things get bent over time.
but the really simple arrangement of one slightly flexible anchor point, and two adjustment screws, is hard to beat.

From what I remember mine adjust on a big sort of slotted ball joint at the bottom that you clamp up once it's set correctly. It's just I
seem to remember the adjustment range not being great and then them moving very soon after adjustment.

Is it the bar that the lights are bolted to that is flexing / vibrating and the weight of the lamps moving
How thick / strong is the lamp brackets ? Can you do a close photo of the bracket etc

It's the standard Avon chassis bracket.
I'll get round to working on the car next week and will take a picture.

Use a nylock or/and a thick split washer as that type don't normally move from vibration. I've actually had them cut out a perfect hole in a
aluminum panel due to fatigue and then fall off! so make sure they are bolted to something substantial.
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet
