Alternator Connections - yep that old subject
Have done the search but don't seem to have found the answer...
Have got an nice small Denso alternator from a Proton. The question is don't know what to do with two of the four connections.
Intention is:-
Attach m6 sized terminal (one attached to body of alternator) to battery -ve
Attach m6 sized insulated terminal to battery +ve
'L' and 'S' what do I do with these?

Thanks for the link.
Trouble is my alternator doesn't look the same. The connector is different - still has two terminals - just can't marry it to the picture.
I assume 'L' stands for lamp and 'S' for sense (ignition or direct to battery?) - Am I correct?
Cheers

According to the Hella alternator catalogue:
L = telltale lamp
S = battery sensor
(on both types of Nippon Denso alternators fitted to Protons)
