wiring question again
All,
I have figured out a bit more of our wiring but i need help again.
At the ignition switch end of the Luego loom, i have the following.
1 large core brown cable, about 5mm in dia
2 med core brown wires about 2mm in dia
These are both Perm Lives.
2 White med core wires about 2mm dia
This is Ingition supply to the loom.
So, i can solder the 2 white wires to the black/yellow on the ignition barrel, thats fine.
My problem is the perm lives. Im going to solder these to the large RED wire from the ignition barrel ( the other end of the large brown 5mm is
connected to the starter - which in tern is connected to the battery + ).
I will have to solder this large brown wire, to the two smaler brown wires, and then to the red wire from the ignition switch -> how the hell am i
gonna do this??? Its fairly heavy duty wire!
Any suggestions on howi should safely and securely connect all these 4 wires together?
Thanks,

solder them all together and then cover them with heat shrink sleeving. Use the type with built in resin/glue type sealant which seals all joints from
moisture and is thicker as well to insulate better.

it was taking my poor soldering iron a while to heat up, any suggestions on what wattage to go for , for this heavy duty stuff?

I think it's more down to tip size than wattage when you're doing thicker stuff. We've been using a 40w iron with a broad chisel tip
and it works well. Load it up with solder and when the wire is hot you'll see it run in. Splice the wires together and don't forget to put
the shrink wrap round the thickest first, as if you would.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
