IMO I think it is worth it for the front and back lights alone.
I have also purchased the set, I am not fitting a reverse light, and have fitted different side repeaters and fog light (because IMO they are crap). The front indicators may be a problem too, unless you upgrade to the 'indicators on stalks'.

Dont just build it.....make it!

I bought a set from Lolocost for my car early last year (Stoneleigh 2001, I think) and have used them.

Stu is probably right about the reverse lights, fog lights and side repeaters although I have fitted them. I didn't get a number plate light for whatever reason so I bought a good chrome one rather than one of the black plastic ones. In the future I'll almost certainly change the front side repeaters.

I also purchased a pair of bike front indicators as there was no way I could figure how to use the ones supplied by Lolocost.

The front headlamps are good except there is no bulb fitting to take the sidelight bulb - cost me about another tenner for the correct fitting. They may have sorted that by now but you should check.

Whilst the headlamps are OK, I will probably change them to 5" units at some time. Purely a personal preference thing but I have since decided they look better. At the time, when just building the car I didn't realise.

So what do you get for your money that's any good? The headlight shells are OK if you like the size, and yep the rear light units are sound.

If (or is that when), I build another car I would certainly source the parts seperately.

Hope that's of some help, - oh, and by the way it is SVA compliant, I went through without a problem

By the way anyone got a view on the Lolocost X'Flow exhaust manifold?

Our office photocopier engineer has a robin hood, he said he has to clean his headlamps with autosolvol every time he gets caught out in the wet to get rid of the rust spots peeping through the thin chrome on his headlamps!

as soon as he can sell it, he is going to build a locost - nuff said????
