EDIS gone bye bye.

I have an Escort which has just kindly donated its 1.8 Zetec to me. He also wanted me to have his EDIS, but when it came to located it, he "converted it".

I dont know if this is right, but where the manual said EDIS should be mounted, there was just a load of connectors, and an empty EDIS bracket! I followed the EFi wires back into the passenger side of the car onto a big silver box called ENVY??? What is this? A later version?

What cars have EDIS? It said in the Haynes Manual that all EFis have EDIS, well its a lie!!!! Where can i get one?

Mine Zetec engine comes from a Escort -95 and it dosen't have an EDIS.
The "EDIS-function" is built in the ECU.

I think the only zetec car to be fitted with the edis was the automatic..

Should get one down the scrapie ,dont forget the plug that goes with it

Plenty of other Fords had them.

Late model 1.8cvh Sierras had them didn't they? They have the toothed wheel behind the crank pulley.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
