Low brake fluid sensor
I have a Sierra master cylinder on top of which there is a low brake fluid warning thing on the screw cap. It has three wires on it. On my Premier
Wiring loom I have one wire that needs to be connected to this. I can't figure out which wires go where. The instructions I got with the loom
aren't that clear to me. Anyone have any ideas?
I could 'phone Premier Wiring but I work nights and I might not be up in time tomorrow to catch them before the close of business. Anyway
it's easier to post the question on here!
Cheers

I can't remeber the exact layout, but one wire goes to earth, and the remaining 2 go to the warning light - they both work together. I guess
that they did different jobs in the Sierra...
A couple of minutes with a test meter or bulb & battery will soon tell you which is which.

One goes to handbrake switch I think.

iirc you use the outside two wires from the std Sierra bottle cap. One is earth, the other is the warning level switch wire. Cant remember the colours
off hand - i think one is brown = earth.

Agree with Darren there- the Premier instructions say ignore the middle one.
Then one to earth and the other to the loom.

Brown to earth, brown/green to handbrake switch, brown/yellow to dash warning light.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Premier loom doesnt require the middle wire. Seperate wire from Handbrake switch can be set up.
Why does the middle wire go to the handbrake switch - is it cos they share the same dash light on the sierra??

Its ignition live to bulb, then on from there to the middle or left contact on the sensor (they are common). The unused common then runs to the
handbrake switch and on to earth. The right contact runs to earth. The idea is that the handbrake switch can then function as the low fluid sensor
light tester.

...and the handbrake connection tests the entire wiring circuit up to the switch, in case there's a break.

they (as in ford!) could've wired it with two wires leaving the bulb, one to the handbrake and one to the fluid level sensor, but as pointed
out, that wouldnt necessarily make the hanbrake switch test the full circuit. Hence it goes to the fluid level sensor first, and then doubles back to
the handbrake, giving two alternate earths in total.

It's the two connectors on either side - igore the middle one.
One to earth, the other to the "tell tale" - don't bother taking it all the way back to the handbrake connector as you can connect
it to the other end of the wire that goes to the handbrake where it connect to the tell tale under the dash.
Easy.
