Relay Problems

Afternoon All,

I was having a few problems wiring my Locoblade last night as the indicator relays are being annoying.

The problem is that the Hazard relay flashes really quickly and the left or right indicator relay flashes very slowly. Is there any way of changing this? Do i have to put a resistor in or do i have to change the type of flasher relay (wattage) to accommodate?

Cheers
Dom

Why did you use 2?
I used a single relay with a 2 pole savage switch for the hazards which basically switches both the left and right indicators on at same time without linkingthem elctrically. Worked first time - no probs.

The wiring loom I used suggested that there should be two relays.

With your solution Darren, did you use a two or 4 pin relay........i am not that hot on electrics by the way!!!

what front indicators have you got?if they are bike ones with 10 w bulbs and 2 pin relays they do this cos the loads are wrong and the relay cant cope,3/4 pin relays are electronic and can compensate for different loads

Cheers for all your help.

I will give the three pin relay a go and see if it works.

My bought my loom, so i hopt that i don't have to create any extra bits to get the indicators working.

I might even give Ian gray (Stuart Taylor) a ring as the loom is from them, but i hate calling that place......

I will let you all know what i did to solve it.

Solved.......two new relays with a higher wattage. The originals were 2 x 21w but the new ones are 4 x 21w and they are perfect. Strangly they have slowed the hazards down and made the indicators faster. Like it!!!!
