Towbar electrics help please

I'm just fitting a second socket for charging the caravan battery whilst on the move.

The relay needs to connected to the alternator warning light on my Honda Accord. However I have the choice of two wires - white/red or white green. I know one of the wires is for the warning light and the other is for exciting the coils on the alternator but which is which?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

i take it your looking for a switched live to activate the relay when the engines started.
you could use any switched live realy from the ignition.
as for your question test which ones live when the engine is running

If you look on the towsure site or similar you will find a relay that you connect straight to the battery. It senses when the voltage is 14.8 ( alternator charging) and automatically passes power to the towbar. Much easier than wiring into the alternator.
