Rewiring Sierra switches - which method?

Just interested how most people go about doing this. Do you ....

1. Cut & shut method - Join the cut ends of the old switch loom into new loom using butt splice connectors, solder joints or similar

2. Complete rewire method - Remove all old wiring and rewire plugs completely with new loom.

Cheers,
Raz

I soldered to the existing wires, then used heat-shrink tube over the top. Remember to make the joints at different distances from the switch, otherwise you'll have a heap of sleeving in one place, which makes a big lump in your covering!

Heat shrink splices will allow you to see all the cable colours all the way through and are very effective.
