Shielded wires

On this diagram there are two wires shown as sheild.
I can see from the short piece of wire that remains on my EDIS that it is a braided cover. Where can this be brought? or is there another way to sheild the wires?

Also I've been told from a member of the Mega squirt forum that this diagram is incorrect! pin 10 should go to coilpack 1 and pin 12 to coilpack 3. Anyone esle found this to be the case.

wouldn't that also depend on the exact location of the plugcaps??

I mean the Capnumber and his cap pos..
will be even important as the coil connection to the module...

those 2 things go the same route...

It would be the same to swap the 2 coil module wires and to swap
the 4plug caps...
so i think he had a spark sequence problem and solved with just switching those 2 wires...(in fact switching coil sequence ==> caq sequence...)

Its difficult to explain...
but believe me, The diagram is fine...
it just depends on your sparkplug caps positions..

p.s. i would just wire a normal extra wire to the piece of shield what is left of it and connect it to the terminal... and tape it all up nicely... offcourse if you can find shielded wire it would be nicer....
in some cases the shield is the difference between live and dead...

The confusion over the numbering of the coilpacks occurs because they are not numbered on the coilpack itself but on the plug.
Ford in their inimitable fashion used the same plug for the coil pack as the throttle position sensor.
However the TPS plug is numbered 3-2-1 but the coil pack plug is numbered 1-2-3
This is where the confusion occurs.
If you used a TPS plug on the coil pack it will give the impression that the wiring is wrong.
Hope this makes sense and it helps you sort it all out.

Yes that makes sense.
However I'v been looking at a wiring diagram in a Haynes manual for a post 95 Escort and it shows as he said and not as the diagram.
Of course now I know there might be a problem I can always change it a round if I need to.

and remember to only connect you sheilded cable to earth at one end!

Yes it should be earthed at the Edis end only and share the same earth as the Edis.Basically just replicate the connections as when removed from the car , the coil leads from the plug and edis are colour coded green and yellow and red and yellow so just match them at each end of your additional wiring.
