I had a similar problem on my old Orion 1600E - I found it was the aftermarket alarm system which was fitted and faulty. Disconnected the alarm and it was ok... it then got knicked so the problem was resolved totally!

Stuck door lock or handle?

My M reg Fiesta does the same if somebody lifts the handle while you try to lock or unlock.

Also try a different key if you have one because the do wear eventually and cause a few problems

Have you tried locking the Passenger door with either key?

Locking the passenger door with the key should also lock all the other doors

Could help narrow it down.

I saw one like this ages ago, One of the back door locks was lazy and it thought it was being locked when it was being unlocked if you no what I meen, the system got its knickers in a twist, Try watching the buttons as you turn the key and see if one is slow.
Steve.

there does appear to be some bits of wood jammed in both locks, could this be a problem ?

Defeatist attitude lol

But Suppose the last resort to get it locked for the night would be to disconect the battery and lock them maually, should imagine that would work.

Good luck

This is not going to help, but I sold a Vectra and the central locking was fuct. The key fob wouldn't operate it.

The interior was a bit grotty (stinking) so I power washed the seats, carpets and door cards and the central locking started working after it all dried out !

Disclaimer: Don't power wash the interior of your car without realising it could all go tits up. You have been warned
