Wooden Dash Panel

Hi All -

Have made my own dash from 16mm ply. Will shortly be fitting instruments (if the upholstering goes OK!).

Will a separate, common earth cable be necessary, for the instruments? Using Premier Wiring loom.

How did other users of wood dashes achieve satisfactory earth circuit?

TIA
Dick

I have always run a separate earth from each component and joined to a common earth that is also grounded to the chassis. Many electrical problems are a result of bad earthing so it is as well to be as careful with that as with the power inputs. that also goes for cable rating.

The great thing about a wooden dash is that it can be sanded and polished if you decide against covering it with leathercloth.
