Fantastic day, pinto starting problem solved

I've been very very busy for the past few months, New house, New Job with much more responcibility so have not been on here for a while and nothing done to the car.

The car had a problem starting, always thought it was a dead earth of a problem with the live supply. Well.........

Mr Magic arrived ( My Brother Inlaw Mr Phil Ranger) he worked for BMW for 10 years and has spent the last 11 Years working for Ferrari.

He took one look at the wiring behind the dash board, rewired with soldered joints and connections, proper wiring blocks, and rationalised the wiring circuites.... 2 hours later he asked me to crank the car over, and...... it turned over like nothing i have ever encountered before.... seems i had been drawing too much power off the battery with non ignition controlled circuites.....

one hour later we put the imobilliser card in and were ready for fire up..

turned the engine over .... 2 seconds later mr magic pronounced ignition far to advanced.. released the dizzy slight turn... still to far advanced... turn a little more sweet. checked with timing light 1' out Cool

played with the carbs and 2 mins got it running like it has never run before.....

starts first turn of the key

wife came back and could not believe the smile on my face.

Mr Magic is back next week to play with the suspension settings....

All Hail Phil Ranger

Phil Ranger.....

He even sounds like a superhero

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
