Replacement Ignition for 1.6 Pinto

Quick question...

I've got the standard Bosch ignition on the donor Sierra - its a 1.6 pinto.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement ignition amp, or if its really worth it...??

Cheers

Peter

if you just want to replace the points then get an Aldon Ignitor. l ink £65 plus VAT or you might get one cheaper somewhere else.
You will need a coil for electronic Ignition.

You can use an electronic ignition dizzy and coil off another pinto if you can find one (not the injection dizzy).

Hope that helps

Cheers

For a replacement ignition module try your local motor factors, Partco , Lucas etc. Sierras never had points , think the last Pinto that did was the Cortina or possibly the Transit

Looking at it, its got the Boisch dizzy with the optical set up, feeding the box and coil on the inner wing,

Just wondered if this was a decent system, or whether it could be replaced easily, and with what.

Does the aldon fit straight onto a coil then..?

If you can get your system to work then stick with it.

The Aldon Ignitor is only for replacing points.

However if you can't get yours to work then a Bosch points dizzy with the Ignitor replacing the points is a good solution.
