handbrake warning light stays on

i don't think this is linked to the road angel problem as its happened independently...but my handbrake warning light won't go off - to get to real basics the 2 wires that are on the handbrake lever i assume one goes back to light/mains and the other just goes to earth - is this right - as you may have gathered electrics is not my stong point!!!!! cheers

Depends on the car and its electrics but basically there is a complete cicuit and lowering the handbrake interupts the earth and the light goes out. So cheack the switch under the handbrake. (Preparing to be corrected!)

Like Ray said, Check fluid level first. As brakes wear level drops.

not quet my solution and faith!!

anyway its strange..

the handbrake and the reservoir should be IF IF connection sow i my opinion both only can make the bulb lid but none of them could make it go off!

Tks

Nit: It isn't a handbrake warning light! It's a brake fluid low warning light.

The handbrake switch is only there to test the bulb so it can't fail silently.

Sounds like dodgy wiring to me if the fluid level is ok.

Sounds like it could be a faulty float switch in the resevoir.
