Bike carb fuel pump activity?
I know the Mitsubishi carb pumps aren't supposed to run full time but does this sound right.....
Put fuel into the tank for the first time today, so the pipes all had to purge/fill and so did the carbs. The pump run fast for about 10 seconds
before fuel was visable at the filter just before the carbs, it ran fast for a further 10 seconds then slowly started to run slower and slower.
I presume the 2nd set of 10 seconds was the float chambers filling but the fact that its continuing, albiet very very slowly to run whilst the
ignition is on, leads to be believe that something isn't telling it not to.
It sounds like the slow pumping is due to the fuel pressure and the pump literally can't push against the pressure its built up but perhaps not,
perhaps they do just tick over slowly.
Should the pump actually stop, dead, quiet with the ignition on?

Sounds normal, my bike pump does the same and I have no problems with it.

Mine just has the occasional pulse,
They sense the pressure and pump when it drops. It will rattle away when the lines are dry.

Funny you should say that, during all my starting attempts I have noticed a small weep from the filter connection right before the carbs, where
I've used the stock Honda small tiny/crap ring clamp.
Its not leaking enought to cause the pump to keep going, but the pump keeping going has caused it to weep.
I'll fix that tomorrow after the damn thing starts.
