Can Anyone tell me what this is
I Have just finished wiring in my MK2 escort loom and have ended up with this left over. It seemed to come straight off the battery . The only thing
springs to mind is it might be some kind of spot lamp relay. I didnt strip the Escort so Im stuck. I was going to just forget it but the law of sod
being what it is!!!

That looks very similar to a fuel cut out relay.

with the many wires, does look like a relay; only other thing I can think off it could be is a RF suppressor, but too many wires.
on the left seems to be a rubber cap with wire - where does that go?

What colour are the wires on it (too mucky in the pic). Then I will be able to tell you for certain. My guess at the moment is headlight relay.

I'm looking at the rubber booted connector and it reminds me of my mk.4 Escort. I used to unplug it to stop power getting to the coil and stop
anyone nicking it. Just my guess.

was it off an automatic escort?
They had some additional bits which it could be related too (the rubber boot bit looks like something that stuck to the starter motor, It would then
connect to something else which was relevent to the relay (i can't remember, it was ages ago when i took mine to bits)
