XR2 clocks voltage stabiliser

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I am using xr2 MK1 clocks on my locost but the Fuel level gauge and the Temperature gauge will not work. I have put a meter across the dash and get 12v supply to the gauge (voltage stabiliser) but only 5v out. Is this correct !!or should I be looking at something else. The other wiring seems fine when checked with the meter. If I earth out the senders the gauges work fine.

Hope someone can help

Thanks.

If grounding the sensor wires makes the gauges work OK then it seems more likely the problem is with the sensors, or at least the sensors ground path. Are you using the original fuel/temperature sensors that went with the gauges?

XR2 clocks voltage stabiliser

Many thanks for the reply, the fuel sender is a aftermarket one from Europa and the Water temperature sensor is from a 1600 Xflow as fitted to the Mk2 escort. My main concern was the 5v coming out of the voltage stabiliser. I will check with a new sender for the water temp and see if that cures it. Thanks again.
