Radio Suppression

Just reading in ths SVA about the requirements for radio suppression, can anyone explain what this is and what does it in a 1600 pinto? Something to do with altenator noise?

its to do with the HT circuit of the ignition system being properly suppressed.
Just fit decent suppressed HT leads & you'll be ok

the leads must have a makers name and some sort of standard marked on them as well
