X Flow Distributor
A subject covered many times, but I can't find the definitive answer.
For a 1600 x flow will a std (that's "standard" not "sexually transmitted disease" ) Fomoco distributor with vertical
cap fit under twin 40's?

LOL
Can I just point out that we don't call them a STD anymore as now they're a politically corrective and sensitive "infection"
rather than a "disease".... Though in the trade we still call them a sticky wicket or a cheese and fish muffin....
Disease makes them sound like someone's been doing something they shouldn't have (which of course is usually true).....
So they're STIs now, not STDs....
which is why you really don't want a Subaru STI....

sorry showing my age and, thankfully, my lack of experience in these matters.
As for a Subaru it's one of many reasons for not having one, that horrible noise they make being the main one IMHO.

Confused but excited.

As I understand it from reading posts on here, the definative answer is no.
The good news, is that I have a spare side entry dizzy cap. If you need one, let me know.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

STI - Shimano Total Integration
.... but back on topic.
I have 1300 with twin 40s and Ford distributor that fits undeneath. The leads are a tight fit (bearing in mind that the 1300 is 1 inch shorter) and
use the small rubber caps or you can take the caps off the leads.
The Bosch is taller, my computations with abacus tell me that this will not fit even with the side entry cap.
and before you ask, there is no side entry cap for the ford one.
... just to make matters even more insteresting, there are several different twin 40 manifolds for the crossflow, differ by the length of the inlets
and the angle, angle I would guess being related to 1300 or 1600 block for clearance.

You could always do what I did - fit Megajolt, and throw the distributor away! Not a trivial step, but my x-flow now runs VERY crisply - as you may
have heard at Mt Bures... It also frees up a large amount of space on the inlet side of the block.
If you can wait until the next Mt Bures get-together then I can show you my installation.

I have done a search on here and realised there was no side exit cap and that the Bosch one is taller still.
I am about to fit my manifold and carbs and don't really want to have to take them off again.
Fitting the Valencia dizzy (Fiesta) seems to be the answer but I have the Fomoco one with no cap and to begin with it would be the locost way not to
have to buy another one.
Megajolt would be good David but the other reason to go the cheepest route is that over the next winter hopefully I intend to convert to either
Vauxhall or bike (still not descided which, no no do not start discussing this ). However I would like to take a look at your installation as never
say never.

Mt Bures has a very nice pub with a nice car park where a bunch of nice people with nich cars gather once in a while. ie North Essex get together.
Having bought a dist. cap and trial fitted it tonight I think I am going to have to find a Fiesta distridutor. Mine clears untill I open the throttle
when the accelerator pump mechanism interfears with the king lead.

Mount Bures is a small village in the Essex Alps... not too hard to get to if your car can cope with the mountain passes, but if all else fails you
can go up in the cable car...
