honda fireblade clocks wiring

hi all i hope someone can help me out

basicaly ive changed my fireblade clocks for something different.#

i need to get the mileage back up for my old fireblade clocks for insurance mileage.

these clocks were of a 919cc x reg blade ive tried connecting the lives and earths straight to a battery but nothing .

the wires that come out of the connector are.

red = battery live
black= ign live
ive joined these two together

then two green wires which are earths,joined these two as well

what am i doing wrong??
each wire that i have connected has a very faint grey marks in it (tracer)

thanks
simon

I'd give them a call and if you think you are speaking to a reasonable person just explain the situation to them - I am sure that if you were to get a decent person off the bat they would be relatively ok with what has happened?

Do you have a photo of the back of the clocks?

Steve

Ive been guessing the mileage for 4 years only when i got it wrong gave
them less miles than last year. Now i
have got to grips with my digital speedo
i am back on a real reading.
Give them a call esp Adrian Flux they are
most understanding.
