LED Lights and Flasher Unit

Hello all

Car largely wired now, which is good news, but the indicators flash too fast. From reading I think that this is due to having LED rear indicators and hence not enough load. With hazards on all works OK so I guess there's enough load with everything flashing.

I've heard that this can be cured by adding a resistor - but I have no idea where in the circuit and what value.

Any advice gratefully received - I have conventional front and repeater units, with LED rears.

Thanks
Simon

You can simon ( I have no idea how though ) , The way I did it was a special digital relay from ebay that does not care what the load is for its flash rate .

The led (one here) relay is the best option as resistors tend to get hot.
There is a down side to using a relay of this type in that if a bulb is not working on the old hot wire type relay, the fast flashing lets you know that your indicators are faulty.
This can be handy if you are about to turn with a steaming great lorry behind, bearing down on you!

Please please do not use a resistor - its such a bodge and they can actually be a fire risk
