speedo calibration question
i've just fitted the new speed sensor... i've put it on the rear drive shaft rather than on the prop/dif flange .
now that it is the other side of the diff do i have to re calibrate the speedo?
before the caluculation was
nr pulsesx diff ratio x number of revolutions of the wheel per mile.
now i'm the other side of the diff should it be
nr of pulses x number of revolutions of the wheel per mile ?
my thought for this is on the prop the ratio of the diff effects the number of revolutions of the wheel, but on the drive shaft side the diff has
already had its effect.
my question is do i need to recalibrate?

i have used magnets on the drive shaft. i know these sensors read them as this is what i used last time. i will check that they work well, and may cut
some steel plate and glue these on if the magnets dont work.
i have the push in drive shafts and i have placed the magnets around the large push in part of the shaft (the bit that only rotated but does not move
up and down).
i have placed a "L" shaped bracket off the diff mounting bolt and the sensor is fitted to this.
the bracket i 6mm steel bar bent and drilled so it should not vibrate. may weld on a brace if necessary at a later date.
i've only got to wire the sensor up and test it all out.
i'm paranoid about loosing another sensor so i want to check it with a feeler guage before running i down the road.
