What battery tin top

Im after a new battery for my tin top and want to compare prices on the net.

My current battery has not got an Amps/hr rating on it or anything to tell me what spec it is.

Can anyone let me know what size in terms of cranking power i need for a 2.1 TD 406 estate 1998.

it also needs the right terminals on it and i cant find a listing of battery types for my car.

Thanks

closest I could find is the 2.2 D - though that seems to be a common size for most of the engines.

I had a 406 2l petrol estate once as a company car, got 137mph out of it. I thought that was pretty quick for such a big car.

but on a private test track somewhere I can't remember where

Power : 62 AH
Cold Cranking : 580 CCA
Length : 210 mm
Width : 175 mm
Height : 190 mm
Weight : 16.4 Kg

Check your local motor factor they have an application list -- however should find a battery type number on it something like 075 or 096

Batteries come in two qualities --- basically the cheaper range have a shorter life and warranty. You get what you pay for, don't fit the cheaper type unless you aim to sell the vehicle with 3 years.

Usual warnings about doing a charging voltage test and generals wiring check before condeming the battery.

Type Cranking Amps (LxWxH)

096 675 amps 278 x 175 x 190

075 530 amps 242 x 175 x 175

027 500 amps 242 x 175 x 190
