i think it is now comunicting with the magajolt as when i am on the new version and switch on the ignition a warning box appears saying that i have an unsupported controller version. i have downloaded it but cant get it to open as it does not recognise the program that created it. so i am gettin somewhere but then getting knocked back!

Rob

You can borrow my old laptop, with serial port, if you want to try it - I'll need it back pretty quickly though as I'm in the middle of setting up my ECU and I haven't chanced a USB converter with my Emerald!

Restart the pc after changing the comm port or it wont be active on that port, can you select comm 7 on the megajolt menu?

Try downloading config version 3.00 it is an older version and should work with the firmware in the unit.

Sounds like you're nearly there fella, what he says above use version 3 and get it working then when you can upgrade to the latest firmware and then start using the latest software version to reconfigure, not exactly sure what's the difference between the firmwares anyway.

Keep going mate you get it sorted soon.

Rich

Thats good to hear , V3.0 will work fine but have a look on the web site to see the improvements with V3.2.1 and then let me know if you need any help to upgrade the firmware. The maps you were having trouble opening should now open ok with V3.0

Ive just reda this thread. Sorry im a bit late. I too had big problems with MJLJ. Solved when Brent advised to upgrade my PC software as you have done. I also found brays terminal was very handy when checking out the com ports to make sure they were matched. Im sure i posted a link ages ago - need to do a search for it.
