starting sparking and timing

right, just one while i wait for the battery to recharge,

i got the starter motor working,
fuel in,
edith4 all wired in ( obviously all working cause its starting to chug!!!)

Only thing is im actually getting exhaust gas come out of cylinders 3&4?!?! very large pop and it aint gonna be doing the carbs any favours!

now i seem to remember when i was paling around with the cam belt i took my eyes off it for a second, heard a click and thought that the inlet cam popped one notch out of place on the belt... im suspecting it did it in an anti clockwise direction.

Does anybody with skills of engine timing know if this is right?
