More fuel gauge queries

The fuel gauge in my Luego has started reading empty even though there's plenty of fuel in the tank. How do I check if it's the gauge that's faulty or the sender unit.
Cheers

Short the wire to the tank unit to earth at the tank end. If the guage goes to full its the tank unit. If not short it at the guage. If it reads full now its the wire. If it still reads empty it the guage. All assuming you have live to the guage.

Adrian,
Cheers for that, I'll go try it now
John

Actually you're probably right I could live without it, my wife doesn't drive it so the fuel pump never has to lick the inside of the tank to find the scraps.
