Alternator causing run on...how to cure??
my engine runs on for up to a minute after i remove keys, what have i done wrong and how should i cure this??
My mega squirt is on ignition live, ive wired battery to starter and then linked alternator, each having a seperate(extra earth) just in case as every
thing is powder coated.
can any one think wher ive went wrong?
Built, Ivaed, Drove and now Sold - 2011 MNR VORTX RT+ 2000cc Zetec on R1 Throttle boddies.

Normally alternator output goes straight to the battery, only the warning light is wired to the switch
Are you sure it isn't "dieseling" ?

Sounds like alternator is wired onto the switched side of the circuit - powering the ECU/coils. If this is the case the cure will be to wire the
alternator feed via a fuse to unswitched side...

We had this when we first got out MS up and running.
The Charging light was keeping the ignition circuit energised with just enough to run the MS.. if you flashed the lights after you'd turend the
ignition off that would stop the car.
We just put a Diode in the wire to the charging light, a nice cheep fix
