Fusable Link

Do I need a fusable link to proect the loom? My premier loom did not come with one.

Any recommendations/advice welcome, and where can I get one?

Keith.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Each circuit should be fused seperately in the fusebox so you don't really need a big biffy fuse near the battery terminal. The only thing that would protect is the bit upstream of the fusebox in a situation where the fuse box arcs....

I've got one of these in the main supply wire

It came from VWP. I think I've got something like a 40A strip fuse in there.

It's very much an 'if all else fails' jobbie.

I've got the same as Mr Jenkins.

Mounted as close to battery as possible.

I suppose it protects against a short to chassis of the feed from the battery to the fusebox but is also in the feed from the battery to the alternator so would protect if the alternator went short which is not inconceivable.

I put in a 10A fuse while I was checking out the wiring - worth it cos I blew it twice
