Quick Shift for ford
I found this site just yesterday,it gate detailed instuctions on how to convert the standard gearbox to a quickshift,but its not working now!any
idea's how to do this?

The link simply moves the pivot point and so shortens the throw of the type 9 gearstick. You can easily do this yourself for little or no cost -
hammer plus a few washers!!

I fitted a quick-shift to my Fury a long time ago but I found it allmost impossible to find the gear I wanted - I found myself trying to pull away in
anything other than first so off it came
I've still got the nylon spacer for the gear lever if any one want's it ?
Its cuz I is blond , innit

i had the same problem on the ford 4 speed you didnt know if you were in 1st 3rd or reverse so i took it out to

I used Dave Andrew's method as part of my remote mechanism.
I found that it works very well, as long as you don't shorten the gearstick too much. The temptation is to make the stick short and stubby, but
you will have already reduced the lever ratio so it can be hard to move.
I would recommend that you find an old Type-9 gearstick in a scrappy and play with that - you can then revert to the old one if it doesn't suit
you (but they are getting scarce and harder to find, but the looks of those 'Wanted' ads that keep appearing).
