Coil packs for edis

Is there any advantage in the second generation coil packs compared to the first generation ford coil packs..

As I have just been ofered new first generation ones for a good price..

i think they're just different plug lead connections aren't they?

I believe that you'll find it easier to get plug leads for one style - don't know which, as I'd bought my EDIS before I found out, and I'd got a set of leads specially made...
