SRS Light?
Yesterday my red SRS light on the dash came on and hasn't gone off.
What does that mean? Is it going blow in my face??
I noticed over the weekend the airbag in the steering wheel was very hot, but I put that down to the weather.
Any thoughts?

there'll be some fault with the airbag. don't worry, it won't suddenly go off in your face! in fact, it probably won't go off
at all...
my airbag lights been on for years. its not a mot failure, so if thats due soon don't worry from that point of view, but as you know, airbags
are explosives, so don't try ad fix it yourself

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I don't know what car you're talking about, but it's quite common on cars with side airbags and seat occupancy sensors that the SRS
light can be triggered by a dodgy connection under the seat, so it's worth pulling the plugs out and reconnecting them before looking at
anything else.

Yep -- 99 times out of 100 it is the connectors under the seat.
Switch the ignition off and put the keys in a safe place several meters away from the vehicle then wait 20 minutes before looking at the
connections.
Unplug and clean and lubricate the connectors with switch cleaner or WD40.
After you reconnect the SRS lamp will go out on most cars ---- the main exception seems to be Fiat group cars which need a dealer reset.
Bad news is it will eventually comeback not uknown for owners to remove the connectors and butt solder the connection.
