o/t transit connect int fan problem

hi guys -i have an 03 connect and recently the interior fan has packed up on posistions 1,2 and 3, posistion 4 (max) still works ok.
i have tried a new switch (dash control) and checked all fuses even those hidden behind the glovebox(here there are also 4 relays?)

the connection to the fan appears to be ok ( i did note that the fan appears to have 3 wires to it)

any ideas as it is truly annoying with all this rain and i would like to be able to leave the fan on a lower speed.

thanks rich

Probably the resistor pack has failed, not sure where on the connect it is, but normally they are fitted in a duct near the fan.
Full speed generally not affected by the resistor failing.

The most likely cause of this is the blower motor resistor. This controls the power going to the motor and is often the cause of this fault. If this resistor is ok, then its probable the blower motor itself has packed in
To acess the reistor pack, fully open your glove box, and tio the left of the blower motor there should be an electrical connector, plugged into the reistor pack. Its the size of a credt card and will be black in colour.

Info from another site. hope it helps

Rich
