Indicators flashing too quickly

Hi all,

I've been tinkering with the car over winter, although i haven't touched the indicators. Now they flash too quickly? (both sides) although the hazard lights work fine? I'm using a durite flasher unit and standard bulbs all round.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi have you changed any lights to led etc,

normally just upping the watss on the rear/ front indicators solves this,

ie when you put hazards on its pulls more power for the relay to work,

i did this and was fine look at the watts in your current bulbs,

Yup, usually it means there's insufficient resistance on the circuit to allow the flasher relay to work properly....

Thats what i read. Wierd thing is i Haven't changed any of the bulbs! I have however been tidying up the wiring (i didn't originally wire the car). So maybe the circuit was routing through something else? Any recommendations on where to get an electronic flasher unit?

Thanks!

flashers

I had the same problem when i built mine. The hazards worked fine, but the indicators were very fast. I originally used some bike indicators i had been given, but i changed them for some from car builder soloutions ones which were sva compliant. These made them flash very rapidly. I went to my Lucas agent and put some higher wattage bulbs in the fronts and cured the problem. The Bulbs are 25Watt 12Volt Bulbs, about the size of 5Watt sidelight bulbs. You could probably get these type bulbs from a motorbike dealers.
Cheers Eric.

Ok update time.. I already have 23 watt bulbs in the front indicators I'm thinking there must be wiring fault between the hazard switch and indicator switch. Does anyone know the correct way to wire up a savage hazard switch?

Thanks!
