Kill Switch
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to put a kill switch into my car, not an FIA one, just a simple toggle switch. Anyway I've got a PWS loom and am using
standard FORD switch gear. I'm trying to figure out the easiest way of adding the switch, if I break the battery live cable going to the switch
will this work?

If you break just the battery cable the engine keeps on running on the alternator. And I don't think that simple toggle switch is able to cope
with enough current>

If ya only after a kill switch, you could always just cut into the coil live feed.

If you are looking just to disconnect the battery, hook it up between the - post and the rest of the car. But use a special battery disconnect
switch

i put mine in between the + terminal and the starter solenoid, just make sure you dont turn the car off on the master switch or youll f*ck the
alternator points.
Ive also taken the ignition barrel/steering lock out and put in an ignition switch.

Cheers for the replies guys, but I think I've figured out how to do it. I'm runing Megasquirt and the way it's wired up, if I kill
power to one of the relays, it should stop everything, Spark,Fuel,Fuel pumps, ecu.
