Headlight wiring

Ive been doing a bit of wiring over ther last couple of weeks, and ive bit a bit of a problem with headlights.

On the flasher stalk, it has fairly thin wiring, as the BMW used realys for main beam. On my wiring loom it has thick wires that go to flasher switch. Now can i get away with just wiring them together without a relay? Or do i have to use a relay to ensure i dont melt my wires?

Cheers

Mikkel

Use a relay.

Chances are the switch is not up to switching a lot of amps, let alone the wiring.

Put in a Relay (one for dip and one for main), and Dont take a chance.
Do you want to run the risk of a fire (probably at night as its lighting we are talking about)

For the sake of two relays and a bit of wire, I would have thought the answer was obvious.

You can get them fron scrap cars for next to nothing. Even so they arent expensive when new.

Play safe... You know it makes sense.

Cheers Guys,

The main lighting switch i will be gettin for side/dip will be big enough to manage it,

Its just for my Main beam that the switch on the stalk has small wires, already found the relay from the BMW loom and wired it in

Cheers Guys
