Is This An Option on a Megajolt
I'm in the process of installing Mega jolt and have recently asked on this forum whether the 12v supply to Edis and coil pack connector can be
permanent. I am advised that it should be a switched 12v so that its on during cranking etc.
Has anyone any views on whether it would be an option to run a permanent 12v supply to the edis via a removable fuse. I'm wonderin whether i can
fit a fuse holder in the dash area (out of sight) so that i can stick the fuse in before starting the engine, it would be a good security feature if
its a viable option. Thanks

I personally wouldn't want to power anything unnecessarily, you could do the fuse thing even if you used a ign live, again personally I think a
switch rather than a fuse would be better, even cooler would be a proximity sensor and card from most maplins/rs etc.

No reason why you can't do that. But..... It'd probably be a pain in the arse day to day, and it's security through obscurity so
anyone minded to nick your car only has to see what you're doing once to know how to overcome it. If you forget to remove the fuse your battery
will go flat.

You need to be able to turn the power off with the key or at least a switch or once started the engine will keep running, you could then only turn it
off by pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery

put another key switch in line giving 2 ignitions definitely a switched live required

Why would you want the coilpack/EDIS/MJ on a permanent live?
Switched feed is the way to go at least then you can easily kill the power should you need to change anything, can get painful getting too friendly
with HT car electrics.

The edis and coilpack are all thats needed to run the engine, with a static 10 degrees timing, all MJLJ does is control the advance, so if you
permanently power the coil and edis, you can't 'switch' the engine off.
