MG ZR - hazards/central locking - problem

I have been asked about a 2005 MG ZR , which has started flashing the hazards & opening/closing the central locking ..

Some research done on the Rover forums have sugested this may be the bcu module, hidden under the dash.

I thought there may be an alarm module, with an internal battery possibly going flat causing the issue.

Has anyone come across this before, or can point me at companies who can resolve it, the car lives in the North East.

Thanks

I don't the BCU is coded to the ECU or 5AS/plextron unit so a second hand unit may well worl as long as it has the same part code number.

We have found a company who will examine the box, cannot recall the name of them -

Are you suggesting we buy the ebay one and have it recoded ? to match the car...

bba - reman was found in the research period, but that will need matched aswell ?

Most auto locksmiths can do the matching or any garage with a Sykes ACR4 with a Rover pod there are also places that will do it mail order.
