ZX7R fuel pump relay
Hi guys,
I'm going to start looking at fitting my zx7r carbs to my pinto this week but not sure how to fuel them.
I have been told you can use the pintos machanical fuel pump to feed the bike carbs without any issues but I do have a bike fuel pump that I could fit
if needed.
The problem is I'm not sure how to wire it in.
I know theres only to wires (power and earth) but do I need to put a relay in to feed it or just fuse it?
The ZX7R pump relays are quite expensive so If I do need to go this route is there a cheaper alternative for me?
Cheers,
Po.

I'm using a zx9r pump to supply fuel to my zx9r carbs.
I have used a fused supply from the ignition with no relay
and had no problems.
I used to have a pinto in my indy and tried to use the mechanical
pump to fuel the carbs. It overfueled by miles, even with a regulator
wound down as low as it would go.The bike carbs only need about
1.5 psi to run them, anything more and fuel will be forced out of the breathers.
If you do want to use a relay just buy a £3 one from any motor factor.

Cheers Andy,
I'll be using the bike fuel pump then!
Think I'll do the same as yourself and just fuse it for now and burn it out I'll get another and put a reply in it.
Thanks again,
Po.
