Indicator problem. Please help
Hi Guys,
My Setup:
Mk Indy zx12 engine
I have a loom for the engine and a separate loom for the lights etc
Using fiesta mk3 stalk for lights and indicators
Everything works fine however the indicators don't!
indicator bulbs used:
2 rear 21w bulbs
4 side repeaters (small bulbs)
2 led front indicators with those relays or whatever you use with them.
Original flasher unit flashed too fast because I dont have 4 21w bulbs so I bought this
DUAL LOAD LED FLASHER RELAY 3 PIN L.E.D FLASH RATE FIX! | eBay UK
Now it works fine but when you start the engine it flashes too quickly on both hazards and indicators with ignition on or off.
Help?
Thank you
Stu

Have you removed the resistors from the front led indicators? I say resistors because thats what I believe you will have fitted, don't know if
it will make a difference but I did remove mine.
Also have you just pluged the new flasher in or did you have to swap 2 of the wires round.
I have a flasher just like the one you have bought and iirc there were 2 cables that needed swapping.
iirc it was the 'L' and the '+' on the new one that needed swapping.

I've not tried removing the resistors but from memory they didn't work properly without them.
I've not tried swapping the wires but I have the flasher units sister that's wired the other way round and that does nothing?

Because I'm doing my IVA and I've got repeaters on the scuttle and the front cycle wings.

I think that is a fail

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I've got photos of an MK taken last year that had repeaters on the side panel and the front wing.
Anyway that's not a problem ATM. Trying to fix the repeater prob...

Can you temporerly fit normal bulbs at the front to see it this corrects the problem.
Also is the relay 6v or 12 v?

Yes and it DOES fix the problem.
Is there any electrical device that can be put in the circuit to fix it?

That would indicate that your LED flasher is either faulty or wired incorrectly. Don't be tempted to fit resistors in parallel to the LEDs -
they are simply a fire hazard.
