denso 6groove alternator? for early zetec

i have been looking and looking for a little denso alternator like the ones fitted to daihatsu's but just cant seem to find one with a pully of the right number of grooves to match my early (mk1) silvertop zetec from a 1.8 93 xr2i fiesta

max i can find is 4 groove type and i need a 6 groove
also had a good look about for a pully to fit but i cant find one the right size denso's have a very short 15mm shaft
i did ring a alternator spechalist with a bunch of numbers of std types to fit std cars to see if he could come up with the goods and he came back mega expensive as it was a new unit with a pully swap.

toyota and daihatsu units is what i have been looking at

idealy i would use a s/h one from scrappy but could go recon but at the end of the day it would be from a model of car.
its only going in a injected 7 kit so would want about 40A or more.

there must be plenty of users here with the baby densos so how did you get around the pully problem?
i know there is a few 5 groove types on ebay but thay are also expensive

im running the orignal type c/w coolent pump so im not driving off the back of the belt btw

I know that this might be a bit left field, but,..... since you are only running the water pump and the alternator why do you need 6 groove,... I ask as my 1600 has only 4 grooves on the belt.

The other alternative would be to buy the cheaper alternator and then ask someone to make a new pulley for you,..

hth

Fisher Fury was 2000 Zetec - now a 1600 (it Lives again and goes zoom)

You can get a 6-groove pulley from Burton that fits perfectly in the small daihatsu denso alternators. Cheap also.

Cheers
