Battery busbar +ve side

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences of using the 4 or 6 terminal busbar things from the +ve side of a battery.

http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/1085/category/201

On the battery currently it has the main cable for the starter which is fine. Over time someone has added seperate feeds to the battery to drive horns and engine fan.

The horn supply doesn't even look to be fused as far as i can see

I now want to add permanent wiring for a smart charger as I am fitting a smaller battery.

My plan is to leave the starter wiring alone but remove all the ancilliary stuff and pull a tidy, single fused feed down from the battery on to the busbar and then connect everything in to that including the charger.

I have used two busbars behind the dash on my car. One for +ve and one for earth(-ve). I am not sure its a good idea as I am not a great electrician but it seemed a pretty obvious way of connecting all the earths and perm +ve in one place. I have a premade loom with my car but I have adapted it so much I might as well have built a new one myself. If I was to start again the I would probably have three, -VE Perm +ve and Switched +ve. It makes little sense to me have 6-8 switched +ve cables going into the fuse box into one fuse which is what my professional made loom has.

Nissan Note has a nice little thing on the positive side with starter post and 4 fused outlets.

That would sort you out without any major rewiring and give you added protection on all circuit's.

Main starter post is fused at 250A which is separate from the 4 fused outlets on the side.

4 fused outlets at 80A, 60A, 80A, 80A,

4 spade connectors on the bottom, if you get it out of a scrapper get the two multi plugs as well.

Neat that is

Are the fuses easily sourced for replacement?

Not sure, the plastic cover clips off but we used to just replace the whole thing under warranty.
