Digidash

Is there any chance someone with a Digidash could just test what happens when the earth the wire that is going to the oil pressure sensor.

I am told that it should read the MAX reading on the Digidash (as it is switched-to-ground) but just want to confirm this as I am testing mine to diagnose why the oil pressure reading is not working.

ta,
Rich.

think you

have an oil switch sensor

and not an oil pressure sensor..

Tks

I know it's the correct sensor from ETB which has an oil pressure sensor and a built in low oil pressure switch.

I just want someone to confirm that the Digidash reads 140 when the wire that would normally go to the oil pressure sensor is earthed.

if

digidash states that the maximum oil pressure

it can meassure is what you meassure holding the wire to earth then your system is ok.

it just works with an ADC converter...

its nothing more then an resistor in series with your sensor.

the sensor res will go lower if pressure rises?? (is this true??) then

one side of the sensor will be conected to ground of mcu.. the voltage drop over the sensor will then be meassured if its 100%
you connect to 0 then digidash will translate the 5 / 12 volts then to 100%=150psi..or max value..

if it doesn't read max then then the voltage applied to the cable isn't the same as the referrence voltage on the MCU

Regards,

Tks

with other words if you meassure while doing sow max value your digisah is ok..

hook up an resistor and you will see another value..hookup an pot and you can play with the reading..(doing if the pot is the sensor)
