My fathers starter was sticking on his x-flow MK. Replaced with new one. Fixed for a while but now that one is getting unpredictable. Any ideas? He says it sticks on the flywheel but to me it sounds like the bendix isnt spinning out. Big hammer doesnt fix it, only jump starting works.

Take it out and soak the bendix end in petrol for a while then blow it out with an air line. it gets clutch dust in it and moisture causes it to stick. The petrol evaporates and doesn't leave residue, whatever you do don't lubricate it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
