Electric choke
Afternoon All,
I've now wired up the electric choke on Weber 32/36 via ignition switch. After a few minutes the flaps fully open. However when the ignition is
switched off the flaps will not close on their own no matter how long I wait.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards
David

Hi David,
Tom knows something about this I think.
Will we see you next summer in your car?
I'll be there in my 2nd!

Isin't the Auto choke fed from the Alternator?
I'm sure it is on ours, either from the screw connector that pushes on to the alternator or part of the bigger plug.
"flaps will not close on their own no matter how long I wait", I thought there was only 1 controled by the choke.
It does take quite a while to return, possibly till the water in the engine/manifold has also cooled.

Ian,
I'm using a Suzuki alternator so the plug is different to a Pinto one. Tom suggested using a switched live connector to the choke, thats what he
has done.
Pat,
Nearly there now. The finishing touches seem to take longer than the main build.

I ran my DFTH electric choke off a six volt tapping off the alternator. Could also measure the resistance of the choke element and put an equal
resistance in series with it. Make sure it runs off an ignition live. Could be that the element in your choke is now fried!
