Hi Dan,
Looking at my wiring diagrams + wiring, I think this is right...(bear in ind I'm using Sierra stalks)
Side lights (+tail lights) switch input is fed by a permanent live (purple) then the output connects to the side lights (red) via a fuse (10A).
For the headlights, you need to use a relay. Take a fused (20A) feed from the battery, switched by the relay to the head lights (blue/red). Either
use a permenent live (purple) or use the output from the side light switch (red) (2nd option means head lights will only work on when side lights are
switched on) to feed the relay coil input and then switch the output of the relay coil to earth with your head light switch.
For the main beam lights (blue/white), repeat wthe headlight set-up with another fuse and relay. There should also be a main beam (blue/white) output
in the bunble of wires feeding the instument panel - this is used for the main beam tell-tale lamp on your dash board.
I hope this makes sense, not easy to expalin in words - a diagram would probably make more sense.
Let me know if you get stuck and I'll try sketching it out for you.
Cheers
Nick
