Premier Wiring Headlights...

Any chance people have pictures or opinions on the top three sets of headlights that Premier Wiring offers here...

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Chris.

I have the low cost versions on my car. They failed sva on the beam tilted the wrong way to the right ( they are universal left or right dip) and the screw at the bottom should be a dome head instead of a pan head, plus the bottom edge around the screw is not radiused.
The solution to the lamp problem was to rotate the lense until the arrow at the top of the lense points to the 5 to 12 position. The screw was changed to a dome head (M6) and the plastec edge was rounded off with a file.
For £25 they are a bargain.

I've got the saturnus lights, which seem nice for the money.

I expect to have similar problems to nitram38 as far as the SVA stuff is concerned, although mine are supposed to have the correct lenses to dip the right way.

I'll need to replace the srew with a dome head and blunt the edges of the bracket, or cover them for SVA.

Thanks for that guys!

So what's the big difference between something like the £110 jobbies from SVC and these?

Ta,

Chris.

The SVC lights may be chrome on brass instead of steel, better quality as they will not rust and bubble the chrome finish.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

............and the sVc lights are those supplied by us to Caterham, Westfield and many other kit manufacturers here in the UK, and overseas.
The light lenses supplied to UK customers are to UK specification and are fully UK road-legal.

I know that RH dipping lights have, in the past passed SVA and Mot, but, and this is a big but, they are designed to dip to the right, just as UK lights dip to the left.

The beam is flat with a small "kick up" to the right - to illuminate the right hand kerb, just as ours in the UK illuminates the left hand kerb. If you turn the lens slightly, the part of the beam pattern that was horizontal now is kicked up on the left, and the kerb "kick up on the right side of the beam is horizontal, but it’s still dipping to the right - or am I missing something??
