Ignition warning light

I know this has been covered mamy times before, but I am struggling to wire the ignition warning light, everything else works. I am using the Vikki Green loom, do I connect the brown and yellow from the alternator (earth potential when stationary and 12v when spinning) to one side of the bulb and the other side of the bulb to 12V.

many thanks in advance.

the ignition warning light really is a battery charge light - the bulb should have 2 wires - one to the alternator (probably a small connection) and one to the battery +

Well, not to battery +, but to ignition switched +12V, otherwise it'll discharge the battery (but you'll know it's happening cos the light won't go off )

switched positive to one side of the bulb and the brown/yellow to the alternator

Fantastic my first post giving info rather than asking for it
