Battery > Starter wire size?

What size wire have people used typically for the battery to starter motor of a 2.0 litre Zetec. My Luego loom has 80/0.4 which I think is about 135 A which to me seems a little light?

I used ready-made from Halfords which conveniently comes with lugs attached and isn't that expensive. Don't know the size though - about 6mm diameter ?

as above the wire size from Halfords and the like is just fine. Usually it is the connections that get hot after a lot of cranking so best to use brass or copper bolts & washers plus plenty of copper grease too.

I used a bit of the earth lead off a welder.

It'll be handy if I ever have to jump start the 07.05 Norwich to Liverpool Street.
