help please! gsxr1000k2 wiring

Im the stage where the wiring is all thats needed ,but I'm in the dark , any advise would be welcome, has any of you guys fitted this engine , and I beleave I need a resister in the loom at some point! any information would be most helpful ! Cheers Peter !!!!

still no spark after putting resistance in!

Hi Peter

Do you have the Haynes manual for it? There is usually a wiring diagram in the back of the bike manuals.

I took a colour photocopy of it, and went through item by item, removing all the bits that I didn't need.

Someone cleverer than I worked out the absolute minimum loom for a ZX10, that had just a few wires, but that was a carb'd bike:-

Switched live, earth, start button, timing / trigger wheel pick up, coil feed and feed to tacho.

I'm guessing to add to that you are going to need a relay for the fuel pump and the injector loom.

I presume you are wanting to do away with the Suzuki Ignition switch. If so, you will need to use a 100 ohm resistor to bypass the anti theft device in the ECU. You will need to solder this between the Orange/Yellow wire and Black/White. this will then allow you to use any kind of ignition switch.
